50 years of TIFR Graduate School
The formal Graduate School Programme in Physics started at TIFR in 1969. It was one of the earliest such programmes for PhD scholars at Indian institutions or Universities. This programme completes 50 years in 2019 and the Institute is proud to note that its alumni have contributed substantially to academics and industry in India and abroad.
To mark this occasion a meeting of TIFR Alumni was planned during November 1-2, 2019. A few eminent academicians from other institutions with graduate programmes were invited to discuss the impact of the graduate school programmes in India and how to increase their effectiveness further.
